Basically, if installed on a stock head, the inner springs will provide 50% of the total load and in doing this, they are stressed higher than the outers. A little machining and juggling of shims goes a long way to distributing the stress equally between the inner and outer springs and achieving the proper 2/3 outer, 1/3 inner load distribution. This probably isn't too big of a deal since I haven't heard of any catastrophic failures related to using Ferrea valve springs but as far as dual valve springs are concerned, this is the correct way to set them up. Cudos to you for taking the time to check out your own setup, never hurts to be more informed. Hopefully Z1 can correct the problem.
